SACRED HEART PHILOSOPHY
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” This quote from the children’s novella The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry draws a distinction between what we can see and what truly matters.
At Sacred Heart High School & Junior College we strive to nurture not just academic excellence but holistic development of students. This entails balanced growth of the mind, body and most importantly the character of a person. Because today’s students are future builders of society. What they learn and experience in school will shape the leaders, workers and community members of tomorrow.
Sacred Heart is an educational institution focused on ‘Education of the Heart’. We strongly believe that learning should go beyond textbooks, classrooms and examinations. True education must shape the character and form individuals who are principle-centred and committed to making a positive difference in the world. Hence, we embrace diversity and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual. So that every student undergoes a real transformation from the inside out to become future citizens who are committed to an inclusive and sustainable global future.
The purpose of learning at Sacred Heart is to inspire passion and a thirst for knowledge to excel in all dimensions of life. We draw on the positive gifts of our cultural heritage that are anchored in the Sacred Heart of Jesus to communicate God’s deep and personal love for people. Jacques Maritain called it forming the whole person.Hence, we have discussions, service projects and reflection built right into the curriculum. It’s the part of education that helps your head and your hands be guided by your heart.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
" Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
— Nelson Mandela
It gives me immense joy and pride to welcome you to Sacred Heart High School & Jr. College, an institution committed to nurturing young minds into responsible, compassionate, and confident citizens.
Our motto, "Service with Love," is the guiding spirit of our educational journey. We believe true education begins with love, grows through dialogue, and finds purpose in service to society.
Every child is endowed with unique potential and a distinctive voice waiting to be heard.

At Sacred Heart, we provide holistic, value-based education nurturing intellectual, emotional, social, physical, moral, and spiritual growth. In keeping with the vision of NEP 2020, we place dialogue at the heart of learning — for education is not one-way transmission but a living conversation between teacher and student, between peers, and with the wider world. Through dialogue, curiosity is awakened, assumptions are questioned, and understanding is deepened.
We therefore emphasise dialogical skills: listening with attention, questioning with respect, reasoning with clarity, and disagreeing with grace. These skills enable students to engage across differences, build consensus without erasing diversity, and resolve conflict through conversation rather than confrontation.
Our aim is to prepare students not only for examinations and careers, but for life — for the conversations they will carry into families, workplaces, and communities. Through academics, co-curricular activities, sports, the arts, and community service, we encourage students to discover their strengths and grow into thoughtful, articulate, ethical individuals.
Education remains a shared responsibility, sustained by ongoing dialogue among school, parents, teachers, and community — creating an environment where every child feels safe, valued, heard, and empowered.
May every member of the Sacred Heart family be inspired to learn with curiosity, converse with respect, and serve with compassion.
